Transcript Evaluation

A transcript evaluation service is available for individuals who already have a bachelor’s degree.  This evaluation will be used to determine how courses you have already completed will apply toward our certification program/s.  The transcript evaluation fee will cover the cost of the application as long as you apply within one year of the transcript evaluation.

There are two types of transcript evaluation forms:

Initial Teacher Certification
The Initial Teacher Certification Transcript Evaluation form is for individuals who have a bachelor’s degree but have not completed a teacher certification program in Illinois, another state, or another country.

Subsequent Teacher Certification
The Subsequent Teacher Certification Transcript Evaluation form is for individuals who already have an Illinois teacher certificate, but want to earn a different Type of teacher certificate: either an 03, 04, 09, or 10 in art, music, PE or Spanish.

Do not schedule a transcript evaluation if:

You already completed a teacher certification program in Illinois or in another state.  Please apply for an Illinois certificate at www.isbe.net 

You already completed a teacher certification program in another country.  Please see www.isbe.net for instructions for applicants prepared as educators outside the United States.
