Rep. Kevin McCarthy

He was born Dec. 5, 1950, in Chicago. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Chicago State University and a Master's of Education administration and Supervision from DePaul University. He served in the United States Army Reserves from 1971-77.

He serves on the following committee:

  • Sponsored legislation to amend the Business Enterprise for Minorities, Females, and Persons with Disabilities Act to reflect a more inclusive definition of individuals with disabilities
  • Sponsored legislation to amend the Child Care Act of 1969 to report the benefits of annual immunization against influenza for children 6 months of age to 5 years of age
  • Sponsored the Child Care Awareness Act
  • Sponsored legislation to amend the P-20 Longitudinal Education Data System Act Elementary & Secondary Education
