Dr. Jamilah R. Jor’dan is the Interim Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs for the College of Education and Associate Professor in the Department of Early Childhood and Bilingual Education at Chicago State University. She provides student support and serves as the college grievance officer. She has served as chair of the Chicago State University’s Head Start Advisory Board and is a member of the university’s budget committee. Dr. Jor’dan is past vice-president of the governing board for the National Association for the Education of Young Children and a trustee for Children’s Home and Aid. She earned her doctorate at Loyola University Chicago in Research Methodology/Human Development. Her research interests include community violence, family engagement, leadership and family strengthening practices and early care and education program quality improvement.
