2017-2018 Student Lincoln Laureate

2017-2018 Student Lincoln Laureate Kristen Gardner has been named the Chicago State University recipient of the Student Lincoln Laureate Award.  On November 11, 2017, Kristen joined the other recipients at the annual Student Laureate Convocation in Springfield hosted by Governor Bruce Rauner. Student Lincoln Laureates are “honored for their leadership and service in the pursuit of the betterment of humanity and for overall excellence in curricular and extracurricular activities.”

Kristen is a senior Biology (Pre-Med) major.  During her time at CSU Kristen has made a tremendous impact on campus life.  Currently Kristen serves as an active member of the National Council of Negro Women (NWNW).  Kristen is also a member of S.I.S.T.E.R.S., president of the Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (MAPS), and serves as Chicago State University’s 2017-2018 Miss Senior.  While in her numerous positions, Kristen has fundraised for organizations, facilitate several community service projects, and volunteered across the Chicagoland area.
