Cougar Cash Card Changes

Dear Valued Student,

Please be advised that CardFlex® is announcing a new and exciting change to their card program!

CardFlex® is the distributor of the Student Cougar Cash Card, and has changed sponsor banks from Pacific Western Bank to Central National Bank of Enid, OK

The "NEW" Cougar Visa U Card for CSU Students offers GREAT student benefits!:

  • Offers convenient way to receive financial aid disbursement and/or funds from a variety of other sources including parents and employers.
  • Controls spending.  Students can only spend the amount available on the card, and can easily check the remaining stored value on their card through a variety of methods that may include: online, phone based IVR, mobile application and SMS text.
  • Purchase Security: When provided by Visa, protects most purchases up to $500 for the first 90 days from the date of purchase against theft, fire, and certain other types of damage.
  • Roadside Dispatch service: When provided by Visa, pay-per-use dependable roadside assistance, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Travel and Emergency Assistance: When provided by Visa, helps cardholders coordinate medical, legal, and travel services when they are away from home.
  • Money management resources: Link to money management educational resources.
  • Larger Surcharge-Free ATM network through MoneyPassÒ and Allpoint offering students more ATM options.

What does this mean for me as a cardholder?

  • All student Cougar Cash Card holders will need to apply for the "NEW" cash card called the "Cougar Visa U Card"
  • All students with the old "MasterCard" will need to close out their account and switch to the new Visa Card
  • TMS installment plan for remaining account balance
  • Transfer of funds from your old card will occur upon activation of the new "Cougar Visa U Card"
  • Effective January 31, 2014, your old card will no longer be available for use.

When can I pick up my new "Cougar Visa U Card"?

  • Students can pick up their new "Cougar Visa U" card by visiting the Cashiers in ADM 212.
  • Students will be required to present their CSU Student ID Card for card pick up.

What if I do not want to use the new “Cougar Visa U Card”?

  • Upon close out of the old account, students can request to have remaining funds on the card:
    1. Mailed to home via a paper check by calling (866)634-3044 or online by visiting www.csucard.com
    2. Transferred to a personal Direct Deposit Account by (866)634-3044 or online by visit www.csucard.com
  • Funds will be refunded to the student in accordance to the terms and conditions of the Cardholder Agreement.

What happens if I have my old card is setup for Direct Deposit, and other methods of putting funds on my card?

  • All direct deposit such as payroll, dividends, tax refunds and other methods of putting funds on the old card will terminate on Jan. 31, 2014.
  • Students must notify the payor/depositor immediately with the new account and routing number.
  • Please be advised that the CSU does not encourage students to setup payroll or other direct deposits to this card.

What happens if I’m graduating?

  • Graduating students need to close out their account and request to have remaining funds on the card:
    1. Mailed to home via a paper check by calling (866)634-3044 or online by visiting www.csucard.com
    2. Transferred to a personal Direct Deposit Account by (866)634-3044 or online by visit www.csucard.com
  • Funds will be refunded to the student in accordance to the terms and conditions of the Cardholder Agreement.
