Ways to Give

2012 "Essence of An Angel" Scholarship Recipients

There are many different ways to give to support the Chicago State University and its bold plans for the future. Contributions to the CSU Foundation are used for the benefit of the university as specified by the donor. Unrestricted funds are used for the benefit of the university as determined by the CSU Foundation Board of Directors, in consultation with the President and the administration of Chicago State University.

Donated Goods or In-kind Gifts

Donated goods or in-kind gifts are contributions of goods or services, instead of cash. In-kind gifts and services are typically goods and services that the university would have to otherwise buy if the goods were not donated.

Examples of in-kind gifts include:

  • Goods - computers, software, furniture, office equipment;
  • Services - meeting space, photocopy and mail services, administrative or accounting support, and;
  • Expertise - legal, tax, or business advice, marketing and web site development, or strategic planning.

In order to properly credit a donor for an in-kind gift, the CSU Foundation asks that anyone receiving an in-kind gift on behalf of the University fills out a donated goods form and returns to the CSU Foundation office in ADM 322.
