Sociology Major

General Requirements

Admission to the program is contingent upon good academic standing and acceptance by the department. The department will not accept D grades in transfer credits in the department. Achievement of a grade of C or better is required in all major courses at Chicago State University. Students must complete 120 semester hours of work to graduate.

Typically 30 or so courses offered every semester. Classes are offered in mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. (About half of our majors are primarily evening and weekend students.)

  • 6 Credits of sociology/social work at the 2000 or 300 level
