COP Dean Named Pharmacist of the Year

The entire Chicago State University family congratulates Dr. Miriam Mobley Smith on being honored as the 2013 Illinois Pharmacist Association "Pharmacist of the Year".

The Pharmacist of the Year Award is the Illinois Pharmacists Association's (IPhA) oldest continuing honor, having had its initial presentation in 1950. It recognizes an Illinois pharmacist who has made outstanding contributions to pharmacy practice, the profession, and the Illinois Pharmacists Association. The Award, sponsored by IPhA, was presented at the Association's 2013 Annual Conference in Bloomington-Normal, Illinois on September 28th.

Dr. Mobley Smith is only the third pharmacist in Illinois who has received the Pharmacist of the Year Award from both the Illinois Council of Health-System Pharmacists (2005) and Illinois Pharmacists Association (2013).

"We are very proud of Dr. Mobley smith for earning this honor, and we are proud of College of Pharmacy for the impact they are having in addressing the health care needs of our communities," CSU President Dr. Wayne Watson said.

The CSU College of Pharmacy is full accredited through the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and is devoted to preparing pharmacists from diverse backgrounds to provide care for a global community.
