Honoring the Legacy of MLK

"Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education." -Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

As one of the leading providers of higher education to under-served communities, Chicago State University continues to produce the next generation of African American leaders, instilling in it's graduates not only knowledge, but character. In that spirit, leaders from CSU's administration, faculty and student body came together on Monday to participate in the PUSH Excel 2014 Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Scholarship Celebration and Breakfast at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in downtown Chicago.

CSU President Dr. Wayne D. Watson along with several members of the CSU family joined with education advocates from throughout Chicago and the nation to honor the legacy of Dr. King and reaffirm their commitment to his still unfinished agenda.

PUSH Excel is an affiliate of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition and is one of the leading education equality advocates in the nation. The organization strives to be a world leader in promoting educational excellence and equity in funding and allocation of educational resources so that every child is guaranteed an opportunity to receive a quality education.
