CSU, Harper College Launch Diversity Partnership

TChicago State Universitywo Chicago State University graduates will become Faculty Fellows at suburban Harper College under a new partnership between the two institutions that aims to increase faculty diversity and give recent graduates valuable classroom experience.
 
Recent CSU graduates Oubria Tronshaw, who teaches English, and Darnell Windmon, who teaches mathematics, will begin as instructors in a phased in program which allows them to start their teaching careers with a focus on early professional development before taking on a full academic workload next semester.
 
Harper CollgeHarper College approached CSU about the program as a means to address the changing demographics of their community college district and diversify their faculty. For CSU graduates, it presents a unique opportunity to gain classroom experience immediately and to take advantage of mentoring within the program.
 
This is the first year CSU will send Faculty Fellows to Harper with both schools looking to expand the program in the future.
