Pharmacy Student Earns Prestigious Award

Bernice Man

The expectations are high for students at Chicago State University, and one student who is meeting and exceeding those expectations is 4th Year College of Pharmacy Student Bernice Man, who was recently honored with the American Society of Health-Systems Pharmacists (ASHP) Leadership award.

Each year ASHP recognizes twelve of the top pharmacy students across the nation for displaying exceptional leadership abilities. Student members are required to write a brief essay, among other requirements, in order to be considered for this prestigious award. Recipients were awarded a plaque, an ASHP drug information reference library and a monetary reward.

“The entire College of Pharmacy community joins me in congratulating Bernice on her outstanding professional accomplishments,” Dean Miriam Mobley Smith said. “Her achievements are indicative of the high quality education that student pharmacists receive at CSU. We are very proud of her and look forward to all she will accomplish in the future as a prominent alumnus of Chicago State University.”

ASHP

ASHP was founded more than 70 years ago and has grown into a national organization of over 40,000 members. The ASHP is committed to advancing pharmacy practices across the nation as well as aiding members in addressing pharmacy related issues.

On behalf of the entire CSU Family, congratulations to Bernice Man!
