Illinois Small Business Development Center Programs

The SBA (Small Business Administration) provides a variety of training, counseling and

resources to small businesses and aspiring entrepreneurs to help them start – and grow –

their businesses.  At Chicago State University, those services are delivered by the Small

Business Development Center in partnership with the Illinois Department of Commerce and

Economic Opportunity.

We understand that entrepreneurs drive America’s economy, and account for the majority of

our nation’s new jobs and innovations.  Our services and programs are designed to help

businesses enhance their performance and build capacity to successfully compete in the

global marketplace.

Strategic business relationships are the key to economic growth in the 21st century, and we

are proud of the partnerships we form with local business organizations and chambers.

These collaborations provide additional support and resources to address the specific needs

of groups such as veterans, women business owners, or CEO’s who want to expand their

businesses through mergers & acquisitions.
