Message from the Dean

The College of Education at Chicago State University was where the University began.  As the story goes, in a small boxcar in Blue Island some far-sighted citizens recognized how important education is for a healthy, thriving community.  That was in 1867.  Since then the College has prepared teachers and administrators for area school districts and has evolved into a proud minority-serving academic institution.  We have undergraduate programs, graduate programs and post-baccalaureate certificate programs in a variety of fields.  Our programs lead to licensure in the State of Illinois and offer endorsements in many fields.

Not only do we provide a rich learning experience for future and career building educators, we also are proud to offer degrees in recreation, higher education, a fully online ALA accredited M.S. in Library and Information Science program, and an online M.S. in Technology and Performance Studies.

Let me ask you, why not consider Chicago State University to partner with a talented and caring faculty to create your future?
