Mardi Gras in May

College of Education 150th Year Anniversary and CSU Sesquicentennial Kick-Off

On Friday, May 5, 2017 the College of Education held their Third Annual Scholarship and Awards Gala-Mardi Gras in May. The event was held at the South Shore Cultural Center. Chicago State University opened its doors as a teacher training school in a leaky railroad freight car in Blue Island, Illinois on September 2, 1867. The evening was a celebration of students’ accomplishments, award recipients, the College of Education’s 150th Year Anniversary and kicked-off the celebration of Chicago State University’s Sesquicentennial. Proceeds from the event directly benefit College of Education students with both merit and need-based scholarships.
