Professional Course Sequencing
Meet the general admission requirements of the University and be enrolled as a pre-Health Information Administration major. Attain a cumulative and science grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. A personal essay of 400 words, typewritten on a separate sheet, describing the factors that influenced your decision to enter the HIA profession and your professional aspirations following completion of the program and submission of three recommendation letters in sealed envelopes are required.

A career in health information offers a challenging, exciting and rewarding career choice. Students are prepared to assume employment in a variety of traditional and non-traditional organizations. Graduates completing the program are eligible to sit for the national certification exam of the American Health Information Management Association where upon completion can become a Registered Health Information Administrator.
