University Announces Further Steps In Response To Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)

March 20, 2020

Dear Students, Faculty, and Staff,

Our campus community has pulled together in incredible ways in response to the COVID-19 situation. Today, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker issued a shelter-in-place order, effective Saturday, March 21 at 5pm Central. The order is designed to further slow the spread of COVID-19. I commend the Governor for making this difficult decision. Under this order, educational institutions are designated as essential businesses and operations, and can remain open for purposes of facilitating distance learning, performing critical research, or performing essential functions.

During this time, Chicago State University (CSU) will remain open to facilitate E-Learning for the remainder of the Spring 2020 semester and to perform essential functions. We remain steadfast in our commitment to support our students to successfully complete the semester in a remote environment.

Despite these significant changes, our goal is to provide you with the responsive service you deserve. However, we ask you to be patient and flexible, as these are unprecedented times. Please continue to monitor your CSU email and visit our COVID-19 page for updates and resources.

I would like to express my profound appreciation for your work and commitment to Chicago State University. For that, I am grateful.

Sincerely,
