VPN Access


Account Request Form

VPN Install & Connection Instructions:

  1. Open and sign in Cougar Connect.  This works best in Google Chrome.
  2. Click the Employee tab and click the ‘VPN Software for Windows’ in the Software Resources box in the upper right corner.
  3. At the bottom of the screen, click the arrow in the AnyConnect-wi…msi box Then select Open.
  4. Click the Next> button at the Welcome screen.
  5. Select the ‘I accept the terms in the License Agreement’ button on the End-User License Agreement screen and click the Next> button.
  6. Click the Install button on the Ready to Install Screen.
  7. Click the Yes button on the User Account Control screen.
  8. Click the Finish button on the Completing the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client Setup Wizard screen.
  9. Find the newly added application
    1. Press the Windows or Start button in the bottom left corner click All Apps.
    2. Find Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client and right click.If Windows 10  you must Select More ->  First, then select pin to Taskbar.
  10. you must Select More -> first, then select Pin to Taskbar Connecting to CSU using the VPN.
  11. Open the Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client by pressing the icon on the taskbar. For first time use, click the gear in the lower left corner.

  12. Click the Preferences tab. Uncheck the block connections to untrusted servers box. Click the X in the upper right corner to close this box. You only have to perform this action the first time you use the client.

  13. In the space provided, enter csuinterconnect.csu.edu or and click the Connect button.

  14. Click the Connect Anyway button on the Security Warning screen.
  15. Select 2-Staff_SSL_VPN_Access in the Group field.
  16.  If you have not done so, please claim your account at https://iam.csu.edu. Use the credentials from the IAM to login in to the VPN.
  17. Click the Connect Anyway button on the Security Warning screen.

  18. When your work is completed, please disconnect by pressing the Disconnect button.
