CSU Student Participates in Congressional Black Caucus Legislative Conference

Chicago State University student Dennis Johnson recently traveled to Washington D.C. to take part in the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation's 43rd Annual Legislative Conference. Johnson, who has previously been a guest on national news programs to discuss the plague of violence on the south side of Chicago, was invited as a guest of Congressman Bobby Rush.

The conference is host to nearly 10,000 African Americans who convene in the nation’s capital to dialogue with opinion leaders, industry experts and members of Congress on issues that are critical to our community. This year’s conference theme was "It Starts With You.

Mr. Johnson took part in panel discussions and had a chance to meet several political and community leaders throughout the week.
