Chicago State Educators Fund Awards 2013 Scholarships

The Chicago State Educators Scholarship Fund gathered for the 2013 Annual Scholarship Awards Lunch recently and awarded scholarships for the upcoming academic year. The Educators Fund is a nonprofit organization that was organized in 2006 through the collaborative efforts of Frank D. Horton III, a retired Chicago Public High School Principal and the late Lillie Kinard Chandler, a retired CPS guidance counselor.

The mission of the organization is to assist CPS graduates who plan to enroll at Chicago State University and who are in need of financial assistance to complete education goals. Scholarships are funded through fundraising and donations.

This year's recipients include Lindell Wiggins, a graduating senior of Bowen High School who plans to attend CSU as a Business Management Major, and Michael Hill, a graduating senior of Hirsch Metropolitan High School who will attend CSU as a Nursing Major.
