Chicago, IL (July 11, 2024) – Chicago State University (CSU) is pleased to announce the appointment of Sonja Feist-Price, Ph.D., Rh.D., as Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs.
Provost Feist-Price will lead the university’s eight academic areas, which consist of the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Business, College of Education, College of Health Sciences and Pharmacy, Honors College, School of Pharmacy, First Year Experience, and Nontraditional Programs, offering nearly 60 degree and certificate programs.

The university-wide committee charged with candidate screening recognized the leadership, skills and experience Dr. Feist-Price brings to this role.”
As a distinguished scholar and practitioner in psychology and public health, Provost Feist-Price has an extensive background in teaching, research, and administrative leadership. She joins CSU from the University of Michigan-Flint, where she served as Professor in the Department of Education and previously held the position of Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs from 2020 to 2023.
Dr. Feist-Price earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from McNeese State University, a Master of Science in Rehabilitation Counseling Psychology from Southern University, a Doctorate in Rehabilitation Research & Education from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale, and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Kentucky.
