Illinois Lieutenant Governor, Juliana Stratton to address graduates at commencement

Juliana StrattonIllinois Lieutenant Governor, Juliana Stratton, will deliver the commencement speech to fall 2019 graduates on Dec. 19th. The ceremony will take place at Chicago State University’s Emil & Patricia A. Jones Convocation Center, 9501 S. King Drive at 10:45am.

Juliana Stratton is Illinois’ 48th Lieutenant Governor. While in this role, she leads the Justice, Equity and Opportunity Initiative and chairs the Illinois Council on Women and Girls, the Governor’s Rural Affairs Council, the Military Economic Development Council and the Illinois River Coordinating Council. 

Lieutenant Governor Stratton’s career has been about bringing people together, building consensus, and solving problems. She started her own consulting firm which focused on alternative dispute resolution and served as a mediator, arbitrator and administrative law judge for several government agencies. 

Lieutenant Governor Stratton currently serves on the Executive Committee of the National Lieutenant Governors Association as Midwest Member-At-Large, a restorative justice practitioner, and trained peace circle keeper.

Lieutenant Governor Stratton is a graduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and Depaul University’s College of Law.
