I chose Chicago State University College of Pharmacy for a few reasons. Firstly, the location played a significant role – being situated in the city of Chicago offers a unique advantage. The city boasts a thriving healthcare and pharmaceutical industry, which provides ample opportunities for internships, networking, and future career prospects. I believe that the exposure to such a diverse and dynamic environment will enhance my educational experience and open doors to a variety of career opportunities.

Cost was another important consideration. Chicago State University College of Pharmacy offers an education that is more affordable compared to many other pharmacy programs. As a student, I wanted to ensure I could pursue my PharmD without incurring overwhelming student loan debt, and this program aligns with that goal. Moreover, the college provides numerous scholarships and financial aid options, which further alleviated the financial burden and made it possible for me to pursue my education without unnecessary financial stress. These scholarships not only demonstrate the institution's commitment to supporting its students but also highlight its dedication to fostering a diverse and inclusive student body.

We all know that a Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree offers a versatile set of career opportunities in the pharmacy and healthcare field.

My goal as of today is to become a Clinical Pharmacist - Clinical pharmacists work in healthcare settings, such as hospitals and clinics, collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure patients receive appropriate medications and monitoring their outcomes.

But I am also interested in learning more about the Pharmaceutical Industry. PharmD professionals can work in various roles within the pharmaceutical industry, including drug development, research, regulatory affairs, marketing, and drug information.

My favorite hobby is hitting the gym. Given the scarcity of free time while juggling the demands of pharmacy school, I've intentionally dedicated my precious moments to prioritize my health and maintain a sense of balance.
