Background
Dr. Patterson is a Chicago native with over 10 years of counseling experience. She
attended Roosevelt University where she received her BA in Psychology and an MA in
Clinical Psychology. Dr. Patterson attended Adler University where she received her
PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision. She is also a licensed clinical professional
counselor (LCPC) and a nationally certified counselor (NCC). Dr. Patterson’s research
interest includes studying the increase of suicide in Black youth and the impact of
social media, researching the experiencing of Black mental health counselors in the
workplace and youth violence.
