I am a native of Chicago where I earned my Bachelor and Master degrees from Chicago State University. I earned my doctorate in Counselor Education from Northern Illinois University.
I retired from Chicago Public Schools after 34 years of service as a teacher and professional school counselor. I was the runner up for the 2013 national School Counselor of the Year from the American School Counselor Association.
My dissertation title is Measuring the Effectiveness of an Afrocentric Male Mentoring Program for adolescent African American Males. I established the nationally recognized Kenwood Academy Brotherhood school based male mentoring program in 2004.
