Affordable, First-Class Education

Cost should not be a barrier to a good education. Chicago State University is committed to providing low tuition rates and abundant scholarships. Here are some ways we fulfill our promise each year:

  • We aid students in applying for such grants as AIM High, State of Illinois MAP, and Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant.
  • We have many scholarships available for both tuition and housing costs. These include opportunities for undocumented and DACA students.
  • We provide a limited number of tuition and fee waivers to eligible students
  • We have an active student employment program, allowing students to work on campus while going to school.
  • We have a partnership with UPS that may enable some students to earn their degrees debt-free.

Get Involved

At Chicago State, we believe education is more than preparation for career advancement — it is preparation for life. That’s why we’ve fostered an on-campus community with engaging activities to promote personal growth. Student government, organizations, clubs, and intramurals provide leadership opportunities and dedicated spaces for students to connect over shared interests. We are also proud to have nine historically African American fraternities and sororities chartered on campus.
