Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
Students can take courses in programming, databases, software engineering, computer networks, artificial intelligence, and many other areas, preparing them for industry certifications, careers in industry or government, or further academic pursuits.
Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance
The B.S. in Cyber and Information Assurance Studies is an interdisciplinary, hands-on program that prepares students to protect critical information assets and manage digital risk across computing environments. Focused on applied information technology, the curriculum equips learners to assess vulnerabilities, defend information systems, and maintain data confidentiality, integrity, availability, and compliance in today's threat landscape.
Bachelor of Science in Mathematics
At CSU, mathematics is a launchpad for innovation, discovery, and equity. Our graduates become the researchers, engineers, data scientists, and educators who use mathematical thinking to solve the world's biggest challenges. There are three paths for undergraduates in mathematics:
Applied data science: Exclusively for double majors. Sharpen your core skills in data engineering and machine learning, and customize your curriculum for an interdisciplinary path to your career goals.
Data science: Combine foundational mathematical knowledge with modern computing skills to prepare for high-demand roles in fields like FinTech and healthcare analytics.
Secondary math: Blend rigorous mathematical concepts with innovative teaching methods, including Generative AI. This degree leads directly to Illinois Professional Educator Licensure (PEL).
Master of Science in Computer Science
The M.S. in Computer Science at CIMST prepares graduates for high-demand advanced roles in private industry, government, or further doctoral study. Students can concentrate in database and software engineering, communications and networks, or web programming and development, tailoring the degree to their career goals
Master of Science in Library and Information Science
Available fully online, the M.S. in Library and Information Science prepares future librarians, archivists, and information professionals for schools, colleges, public libraries, and other settings. Coursework spans core LIS theory, research and foundations, alongside practical skills in library management, information organization, information literacy, and library technology.
The program offers a Master of Science degree in Library and Information Science with a specialization in the following areas:
- School libraries (initial licensure, advanced master’s degree/endorsement to become a School Library Information Specialist in the state of Illinois)
- Archives and Records Management
- Academic Libraries, and
- Public Libraries.
An endorsement-only option is also available for licensed Illinois teachers, along with a post-baccalaureate certificate in Archives and Records Management.
Master of Science in Mathematics and Computational Intelligence
Experience a master’s program unlike any other in Illinois. Earn your degree through coursework or through research – the choice is yours. Our inquiry-based learning approach incorporates Design Thinking and Generative AI for ideation, iteration, and communication.
Master of Science in Technology and Performance Improvement Studies
The fully online M.S. in Technology and Performance Improvement Studies (TPIS) prepares professionals to systematically diagnose and solve performance challenges at the worker, work, workplace, or world level. The curriculum integrates human performance technology (HPT), information and communications technology (ICT), and quality management, aligned with International Society for Performance Improvement (ISPI) standards.
MSTPIS is open to individuals from any educational background, making it an attractive choice for those looking for a career change or an opportunity to enrich their skills in technology and performance improvement. The program offers a flexible structure with a customizable focus area tied to professional goals, plus a thesis/project component for solving real-world problems.
- CIMST offers a 4+1 integrated degree program for students to finish the requirements of a BS in Management Information Systems and an MS in Technology & Performance Improvement Studies within 5 years.
