Individuals who are a citizen or permanent resident of a country outside the United States. Chicago State University is authorized under federal law to issue documents for individuals to study at the university on an F-1 or J-1 visa. To be considered for admission to CSU, applicants are required to submit qualifying documentation towards their application. To complete an application and before an I-20 (for individuals on F-1 visas) or DS-2019 (for individuals on J-1 visas) can be issued, international applicants must complete the steps listed below by category. |

Evaluation must be completed with a NACES approved foreign credential evaluation company, showing equivalency to high school diploma and cumulative overall GPA of 2.5. Individuals commonly select from one of the following below:
Transfer applicants that do not meet the minimum of 24 semester hours or 36 quarter hours of earned college-level coursework from a regionally accredited institution will be considered as a transfer freshman applicant and will be required to submit documents as required for Freshman applicants.
