CSU Emergency Scholar Grant – Spring 2022 Term
About the Fund
- A student is eligible to apply if they are enrolled in the Spring 2022 Term.
- A student can receive $725 through this disbursement if they are CARES Act eligible and Pell-eligible.
- All other eligible applicants will receive $500.
- The award is a one-time payout for Spring 2022.
- Disbursement dates depend on when students submit their application and internal timelines.
- CARES Act funds will be paid to eligible applicants until funds are exhausted on a
first-come-first-serve basis.
- The award is not a loan and does not need to be paid back.

Eligibility Requirements
CARES Act:
- Must be enrolled in at least one class at Chicago State for the Spring 2022 semester
at the time application is completed.
- There are no residency or citizenship requirements for the Spring 2022 award.
- Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress requirements.
Ineligible Students
You are not eligible to receive Emergency Assistance funds if you are one of the following:
- Not enrolled in credit-bearing classes in Spring 2022 past the census dates.
- A dual-enrolled student.
- Enrolled in continuing education certificate programs.
Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF)
Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students Disclosure:
CSU officially acknowledges that we have signed and returned to the United States
Department of Education (US DoEd) Certification and Agreement for this program. We
further assure that CSU has used, or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the
funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial
Aid Grants to students.
