Phi Alpha Theta National History Honors Society is open by invitation to undergraduate or graduate students in History who have completed the following requirements:

Undergrads: at least twelve semester hours in history with a grade in all history courses averaging above "B", who has a general average of at least "B" in at least  two thirds of his/her other course work, and who ranks in the highest 35 percent of his/her class. 

Graduate students will have completed at least one third of their residence  requirements for the Master's degree with an average in all courses of at least 3.5 and has no grade of  "F".
