LGBTQ+ Resource Center

The CSU LGBTQ+ Resource Center is located in the Cordell Reed Student Union Building (SUB), room 203. Contact lgbtq@csu.edu for open hours and/or to learn about services and activities. A gender neutral restroom is located in the SUB next to First Year Experience (room 180). There is also a gender neutral restroom in the Cook Admin Building. Housing

Library

The Gwendolyn Brooks Library offers many types of resources (monographs, journal articles, streaming video, etc.), which are helpful to those researching LGBTQ+ issues.

Radio

WCSU was established in 1994. The station hosts a weekly queer-focused radio show - Time to Talk! Tune in via https://www.iheart.com/live/wcsu-chicago-state-university-6067

Safe Zones

Safe Zones provide students, faculty, and staff the opportunity to create safe spaces on campus that are highly visible and easily identifiable to LGBTQ+ persons. CSU has offered Safe Zone training to educate our community since 2009.

Individuals who have received training and who have signed the Safe Zone agreement display a Safe Zone symbol that demonstrates their respect and support of LGBTQ+ individuals and their commitment to providing an affirming space where discrimination is not tolerated. Safe Zone participants are always learning! Brush up on your vocabulary anytime with this helpful resource!

Student Organizations

CSU hosts numerous student organizations. LGBTQ+ students are welcome to join and participate a wide array of activities and/or form and lead new groups.
