Emergency Aid

Housing insecurity includes a complex set of housing challenges, including the inability to pay rent or utilities, moving frequently, loss of housing or living in an apartment or house above capacity. What that often looks like in colleges is students sleeping on their friends' couches or floors, living out of their cars or staying in overcrowded apartments. Friends and family can kick you out at any point and they do, so students are living with their items in a bag ready to be evicted and find another place to live. This is a constant stressor, which impacts students' mental health and wellness. CSU House Liaison is responsible for providing assistance to any student that identifies as housing insecure or at risk for housing insecurity. There are a number of housing resources that are available with links to explore housing options. However, if you are seeking support and are feeling overwhelmed, please visit the CSU Counseling Center for assistance.

Homeless Students

Any documentation or website page of CSU showing that the University provides on-campus housing for students, it authorized the following:

Grant priority for on-campus housing to students experiencing homelessness and students in care who are enrolled at the University, including but not limited to, access to on-campus housing that remains open during academic breaks, and waive fees for the on-campus housing during academic breaks;
Allow students experiencing homelessness and students in care who are enrolled part-time at the University to access on-campus housing;
Provide information about the availability of on-campus housing to students experiencing homelessness and students in care; and
Provide information about the services and assistance offered by the University regarding homelessness in financial aid packets and admission packets and on the University’s website.
