Counseling Department Outreach Program (CDOP)     

Students With DiplomasThe CSU CDOP is empirically-based and implemented virtually by CSU faculty and invited guest speakers. The mission of the CDOP is to facilitate student enrollment, retention, graduation, and success across the lifespan as well as enhance the psychoeducation and psychosocial well-being of the entire CSU community. Programming is generally provided in the form of PowerPoint presentations, mental health screenings, and referrals.

The dissemination of mental health resources and research is offered in various modalities including to individuals (eg: one-on-one personal sessions), groups (e.g., campus organizations, student orientations, and Colleges/departments), classes (e.g., guest lecturer presentations), campus-wide events and workshops, and resource stands outside of the Counseling Department (CRSUB 190).

We address the following psychosocial areas:

  • Stress, Trauma, and Anxiety Management
  • Self-Esteem Enhancement
  • Alcohol & Drug Awareness
  • Anger Management & Conflict Resolution
    (4 Week Mini-Course)
  • Violence Prevention
    (e.g., Domestic Violence Awareness, Veteran & Military Support, Justice Involved Individual Support)
  • Cultural Diversity Awareness
    (e.g., Disability Awareness, International Student Support, LGBTQ Awareness)
  • Psychological Wellness Awareness
