logoThe ideals of the Honors College are embodied in the College’s logo, a group of four Adinkra symbols from West Africa. The creators of these symbols have used them as reminders of timeless human truths and ideals. Adinkra symbols are featured throughout Chicago State University’s Cordell Reed Student Union.

Honors Sankofa reminds us of the importance of history and heritage. "One cannot know where one is going without knowing where one has been."

 

MateMasie Mate Masie symbolizes the acquisition of education and knowledge which, when combined with experience, produce wisdom.

 

sesaWoruban Sesa Woruban stands for self-transformation. This is our goal for every Honors College student. It results from combining community, heritage and knowledge with motivation and a sense of purpose.
