Extended Deadline for Transfer Student Scholarships

Great news! As always, we want to assure all of our transfer students get the opportunity to receive a scholarship. That is why we have decided to extend our deadline for our Transfer Scholarship and Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship to August 16th.

 

Chicago State University has a rich history of providing a standard of education that is both academically rigorous and cost effective. Therefore, we are excited to announce our new Transfer Student Scholarship opportunities for first-time transfer students.

To be considered for our scholarships, students must:

  • Applyto Chicago State University. Click here to view instructions on how to send your documents.
  • Be an admitted, first-time transfer student
  • Complete a FAFSA to determine financial aid eligibility
  • Meet scholarship GPA requirements

You will automatically be considered for these scholarships as long as you have applied to CSU and all official documents have been received by August 16th, 2021.

Phi Theta Kappa

Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) members who transfer to Chicago State University are eligible to apply for a $3,500 scholarship. In order for PTK members to be considered, they must:

  • Be an admitted, first-time transfer student
  • Complete a FAFSA to determine financial aid eligibility
  • Meet scholarship GPA requirements
  • Submit their PTK Member Certificate to ug-admissions@csu.edu

As long as you have applied to CSU and all official documents have been received by August 16th, 2021 you can be considered for this scholarship.

 

Star Scholarship

City Colleges of Chicago Star Scholars must meet the following criteria in order to receive the $1,000 per year for two years at Chicago State University and be eligible for additional scholarships:

  • Complete an Associate of Arts of Associate of Science Degree
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Complete a FAFSA to determine financial aid eligibility
  • Maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA to maintain eligibility

*Scholars are eligible for the Star Scholarship for a maximum of two years

Honors College

Students admitted to the Chicago State Honors College are eligible to receive scholarships to cover their tuition and mandatory fees as long as they meet university requirements. For more information on how to apply, visit the Honors College website here.

Athletics

Chicago State University (CSU) is a Division 1 school and we are proud to offer our athletes scholarships. Award amounts vary per athlete and sport. If you want to participate in intercollegiate sports at CSU, please visit the athletic department website and speak with the coaching staff of your sport of interest.

Marching Band

Chicago State University has a marching band and is always searching for talented musicians. Marching Band membership is not dependent on your chosen major, only on interest and musical ability. There are also scholarship opportunities, though scholarship amounts may vary.   

Requirements

  • Audition for the marching band
  • Be part of marching band and concert band
  • Must complete a FAFSA to determine financial aid eligibility

Chicago Regional College Program (CRCP)

The CRCP is a program that offers financial support for students by utilizing benefits from 3 different income sources:

  1. Tuition: Paid tuition and fees (currently $6,000/semester at CSU). Textbook assistance (currently $75/class). Subject to change, based on program funding.
  2. Paycheck: Work part-time at UPS in Hodgkins, (DACA friendly); weekly paycheck, $14/hour. Free public transportation is available via Pace and CTA routes.
  3. $300 for CSU students and up to $500 for qualified veterans

The total maximum annual package is up $25,000. If you need financial assistance for college, why not work a part-time job that pays you AND pays for college?  (This program is also DACA friendly)
