New Urban Education Preparation

The Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for Urban Partnership is a strategic initiative to address teacher shortages in urban districts. It targets employees teaching with emergency permits or working as paraprofessionals and aides, supporting them in obtaining their bachelor's degree and teaching licensure. In exchange, the districts cover all costs, and participants agree to work in the district for a specified period. CSU's College of Education, the Education Preparation Provider (EPP), is committed to training future teachers. Launched in the Fall of 2024, the partnership aims to increase the number of certified teachers and improve the quality of education in urban communities, demonstrating a mutual commitment to advancing high-quality, accessible teachers committed to education excellence in historically underserved communities.
